Student Success Statements

"You can't be right by doing wrong; you can't be wrong by doing right" -Thomas S. Monson 

I personally agree with this statement by Thomas S. Monson. If you are doing the correct and right thing there is no way that you can be doing the wrong thing, because right is right, and wrong is wrong. An example of doing the right thing is finding something that does not belong to you and returning it. The wrong thing in this situation is keeping the item you found, and not returning it. We should always strive to do our best and to always do the right thing. You should achieve to do the right thing not because it leaves a good reputation for you, but because you know that it is the right thing to do. In any situation no matter what we should always try our hardest to do the right thing in a situation. You should always remember that right is right and wrong is wrong there is no case in which it would be different or switch.

The 10 Indian Commandments

                The 10 Indian Commandments 
1. Treat the earth and all dwells therein with respect 
2. Remain close to the Great Spirit
3.  Show great respect to your fellow beings
4.Work together for the benefit of all mankind
5. Give assistance and kindness wherever needed
6. Do what you know to be right
7. Look after the well-being of mind and body
8. Dedicate a share of your efforts to the greater good
9. Be truthful and honest at all times
10. Take full responsibilities for all your actions

Some of these commandments are thing we should do on the daily bases. One of the, is 3 because if we want respect we need to show it also. Another commandment that i agree with is 5 because we should all lend a hand when someone needs us or our help. I think these commandments are important and helps them become better people.

Be True

             Student Success Statement

The meaning of this statement is that it doesn't matter if you win or loose as long as you stay true to yourself any everyone.  By staying true it shows that you are an honest person who can be trusted. An example of this is if you do something your'e not suppose to be doing or damage something don't hide it. Tell the person the truth , it shows that you would never lie they might not trust you but they'll know you are honest. We should always choose to be true with everyone. Being true will also get you  a good name

True Independence and freedom

"True independence and freedom can only exist in doing what's right" -Brigham Young

The meaning of this statement is doing the right thing will get you your independence and freedom. An example of this is doing something illegal or doing something your not suppose to will cause you to get your freedom and independence taken away. What i mean by this is that you will most likeley go to jail and by going to jail that mean you will not have any freedom. You shouldn't do things that you know will cause you to get that taken away those are two important things. While being free you can do anything you want whenever you want. This would be 10 times better than being locked up in jail. Any criminal in jail has no freedom or independence. They choose to do something wrong which caused them to loose there freedom and independence. 

What we do today

The meaning of this statement is that one wrong decision can determine our whole life. We make decisison's every day , but before you make one think about it. An example of this is if one day you decide to steal, or shoot up a school thinking no one is going to find out it was you, you are wrong. At one point the truth always comes out , you can try to hide it as much as you want but it always comes out. Another example of this is the guy who decided to start a shooting at a movie theater. He got away with it for a while because it wasn't arrested right away. He thought he could get away with it but he didn't because people who were there said what they saw, because the truth always comes out. Always try to make the right decision you'll be proud that you did.

Student Success Statement

"Ask yourself is it right or wrong and act accordingly" -Otto Graham, JR.

The meaning of this statement is that before you do something thing before you do and ask yourself if it's the right thing to do. We don't often thing before we do we just do what we feel is 'easier to do'.  An example of this is if you find a wallet on the floor the first thing you should do isn't think about stealing the money. You should think about returning it to it;s rightful owner. You should look inside to see if there's an ID and if it looks like anyone around there if it doesn't turn it in somewhere like a police station or something. We often choose to do what's not right because it's the easier thing to do. We never actually think about doing the right, but you shouldn't decide to do the right thing just because people are looking and you wanna make a good impression. No matter what , people around or not you should choose to do the right thing. Before doing anything think about it and reflect on is it the right thing to do or is this a poor decision i am making. Choosing to do the right thing will get you far in life. 

Student Success Statement

The meaning of this statement is that you shouldn't do things based on if they're popular or not. If it's the right thing to do then you should do it. An example of this is the video we watched of the guy who is 80 and goes out to the park and gives hair cuts to homeless people. He does it just because it's the right thing to do not because he wants things in return. He doesn't even charge all he asks for is a hug.  An example of doing what,s popular but it not being right is how people are doing drugs just because everyone else is do it. You shouldn't do something just to fit in with others. If you do what's right you will be most likely glad you did in the future. Before doing something just think about it and make sure it's the right thing to do.
