- Memorial day is a holiday too honor the women and men who served in the U.S military. This holiday started after the civil war but it wasn't an official holiday till 1971.
- Memorial day is celebrated the last Monday of may this year it last on the 27 of may.
- A few things people do to honor this day is go to cemeteries, do services, or participate in any parades.
5. Memorial day was originally called Decoration day. The first state that actually recognized this holiday was New York. On this day most schools, Government offices, and most businesses to remember this day. This holiday first started in southern states to honor the people who died. The name to this holiday wasn't come up with till after World War 1.
6.)Something i might do to honor the people in memorial day is take a moment out of my day to honor and learn more about them.
